Early morning and the cruise ship slips into Las Palmas...

Just another busy port of call, this one in the Canaries, just after dawn, but consider this, over 400 delegates at a convention have been on board for three days. Similar to a five star hotel but wrapped in a complete self supporting floating town. The guest list exceeds 1,200 on this particular ship, crew is around 750 and the Swedish Chef serves up more than ten thousand meals a day.....
Meanwhile the convention takes place in the purpose built convention centre and spills over into the 700 seat Theatre, breakout and syndicate rooms are easily arranged as there are numerous lounges and even a high tech wi-fi internet suite. If you have your own laptop wi-fi it extends to most areas and the sun deck.
Cost comparisons for this type of convention hold up well with all inclusive shore based venues. In terms of service and staffing, there seems to be nothing the technical crew have not experienced and well if you don't want to venture out of your stateroom, the conference can be broadcasted live or looped on the shipwide TV channel. No escape from your convention!
The resident video crew can even bulk produce a DVD of the whole event before your delegates step ashore. The Print Shop can turn around conference papers; then there are the nine opportunities to eat each day..I kid you not ... plus complimentary room service around the 24 hour clock. Ask for more details, you'll understand we like cruise conferences...happily for us not many convention organisers have cottoned on to this innovative and highly memorable form of convention. It can be from 300 to 1,000 delegates. Feedback is excellent from all the events we have been involved with...
